The Salesian Provinces of Chennai (INM) and Tiruchy (INT) came together to organize the Youth Pasch 2025, a meaningful three-day spiritual journey held from April 10th to 12th at Don Bosco Youth Animation Centre, Ennore. Around 60 enthusiastic young people from various Salesian parishes across Tamil Nadu gathered to explore the true meaning of the Paschal Mystery—the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus—and how it connects with their own lives. The program began with a heartwarming inaugural session in the presence of Fr. John Christy SDB, Youth Pastoral Delegate of Chennai Province, and Fr. Charles SDB, Youth Pastoral Delegate of INT Province. Their encouraging words inspired the youth to set out on a path of faith and self-discovery. The sessions that followed were both thought-provoking and enriching. Fr. Rupen spoke about the role of missionary disciples today, drawing insights from Pope Francis’ document Evangelii Gaudium. Fr. Maria Antony OFM Cap. offered a clear and inspiring explanation of the Pasch in both the Old and New Testaments, helping the youth understand the deep meaning behind these sacred events. The liturgical celebrations were central to the experience
On Maundy Thursday, the youth washed each other’s feet as a sign of love and service. The Good Friday service, led by Fr. Charles SDB, was a moving time of reflection on Jesus’ great love. The Easter Vigil, led by Fr. Vincent Robert SDB, was a special moment with the blessing of the new fire and deep explanations of the readings, showing the journey from darkness to light. The pilgrimage added another powerful dimension. The youth climbed St. Thomas Mount, praying the Way of the Cross with Fr. Rosario SDB. They also visited Annai Vailankanni Shrine, praying the Rosary with devotion. A talk by Fr. Vikesh Joseph SDB on the importance of confession touched many hearts, and several young people made their confession, experiencing peace and renewal. The final day began with a beautiful Galilee experience at Ennore beach, where the youth reflected on the Resurrection of Jesus and how it gives new life and hope. The closing Thanksgiving Mass at Santhome was celebrated by Fr. Rosario SDB. Fr. John Christy SDB preached an inspiring homily, highlighting the love of Mary Magdalene and the Easter experience of St. Thomas, calling the youth to grow deeper in their faith and trust in Jesus. The Youth Pasch 2025 left a lasting impression on everyone. The young people returned with joyful hearts, precious memories, and a deeper love for God, saying the experience was truly life-changing, refreshing, and filled with faith.
