The glorious province of Chennai was overwhelmed with joy and happiness as the confreres gathered together to celebrate the feast of Mary Help of Christians, the patroness of our congregation. The day of solemn feast witnessed various religious ceremonies of our province
May 24th, the feast of Mary Help of Christians, began with a profound expression of faith and commitment. At 7:00 am, 17 novices professed their first vows before Fr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy, the Provincial of Chennai, in a deeply moving Eucharistic celebration at Idaya Deepam. These young men, having completed their novitiate, committed themselves to live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, thus becoming members of the Salesian Society.
Simultaneously, at Sacred Heart College in Tirupattur, 24 scholastics gathered for the Renewal of their Religious Vows. The rite was presided over by Fr. Alexander, Vice Provincial of the Chennai Province. This renewal underscored the ongoing journey of fidelity and dedication undertaken by those still in initial formation. With renewed zeal, they reaffirmed their commitment to the Salesian way of life, inspired by the charism of St. John Bosco.
Later that morning, at 10:00 am in Don Bosco, Tirupattur, the atmosphere was one of deep reverence and joy as five young men made their Perpetual Profession. This lifelong commitment was received once again by Fr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy. In the presence of confreres, family, and the Salesian community, these men offered their whole selves to God and the service of the young, especially the poor and marginalized.
Throughout these events, the presence of superiors, fellow Salesians, families, and well-wishers added to the spirit of communion. The novitiate community and other formation houses had prepared meticulously to ensure that the sacredness of each moment was preserved and enhanced.
