Don Bosco Graphic Arts students learn to lead at SIGA.


The Investiture Ceremony of the student-leaders of Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts (SIGA) was presided over by the President, Mr.G.N.Visvakumar of The Madras Printers and Lithographers Association - MPLA and flagged by Mr. Anbalagan.R, The Secretary MPLA, and Father PT Joseph, The Principal - SIGA. In his address, Visvakumar capsulated his message in three words: Innovation, Technology, and Trust.
    The ceremony was held with great pomp and dignity at the college auditorium on 11 August 2018. In the presence of the Joint Secretary of MPLA Mr. Krishnamoorthy, the leaders received their badges from the Chief Guest and pledged to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities and to foster Virtue, Knowledge, and Arts - the motto of the college. Singing the National Anthem, the entire college stood up to build the nation towards integrity and development.

In fact, the group of 24 leaders makes up the Student Welfare Council (SWC), who take an active part in framing the strategic planning and governance of the institute along with the Educational Pastoral Council, of SIGA Society. The final year student, Mr. Anto Franklin heads the SWC along with other Class and Club leaders who represent the 400 students of Printing Technology on the campus. Father Anand, Vice Principal oversees the activities of the clubs and the teaching staff mentor the clubs to achieve their objectives.
