Who We Are : :

We the Salesians of the province of Chennai wish to realize the kingdom of god following the foot steps of Christ.

In keeping to the charism of Don Bosco we educate and evangelize the young together with the numbers of the salesian family, lay collaborators and all those who wish to join us in this endeavor.

By becoming the agents of empowerment and social transformation,we will strive to become signs and bearers of gods love to all especially the marginalized and the rural poor youth in the northern part of Tamil Nadu.

What We Do : :

Mission Priorities of the Province :

To give due importance to the Primacy of God and Community Life.
To strengthen and stabilize with personnel and finance all our new and rural presences.
To give in all our presences a ‘Youth Focus’.
To establish different types of Neighbourhood Apostolate.
To prepare a concrete and comprehensive Formation Plan.
To enhance in our Province Higher Education.

Action Plan: :

Fostering a cordial and deeper relationship among the confreres.
To update the Policies and Directives for the different sectors in our Province.
To prepare a Comprehensive Formation Plan of the Province.
To bring in a Planning Mentality in our life and in all our activities.
To prepare a directory of the scope of the local houses.
To prepare an overall plan for the agricultural land we have in different places.
To foster missionary zeal in our Province.
Ongoing Formation of Confreres.
To initiate Voluntarism in the Province.
To prepare a Comprehensive qualification plan of confreres.
To make the projects community-based.
Language Skills and Computer Skills for employment.
To prepare a budget at the Provincial level.

Farewell and Welcome

Fr. Gregory Devarajan SDB was the Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Cooperators of Chennai Province from June 2003. With dedication and love he animated and led the Association in a successful way. In May 2008 he has been transferred to Tagore Nagar, Pondy as Principal. A young and dynamic person, Fr Deva Joe SDB willingly and with full of interest and hope took up the Provincial Delegate ministry in addition as the Rector & Parish Priest of St. Mary`s Co Cathedral, Armenian Street, Chennai.

Fr. Maria Charles defends his Doctoral Dissertation

Rev. Fr. Maria Charles successfully defended his doctoral dissertation today (14th July) in the faculty of Social Communications at the Salesian Pontifical University, Rome.
