Voice of Angels – Season 10, the highly anticipated archdiocesan inter-parish singing competition for youth choirs, unfolded with exceptional fervour and grace on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, Perambur. This year’s edition held special significance as it was hosted in conjunction with the Post-Centennial Silver Jubilee celebrations of the parish. Themed “Our Lady of Lourdes Songs,” the event invited young voices from across the archdiocese to express their faith and creativity through soul-stirring Marian hymns. Originally planned as an open-air event, the celebration was relocated to the Don Bosco Primary School auditorium due to unexpected heavy showers—yet the spirit of devotion remained undampened.
The grand finale in the evening brought together a distinguished panel of judges from the Indian music industry: Mr. Mujeeb, a seasoned sound engineer known for his work with A.R. Rahman; Mr. Maxwell, a master trumpeter from Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s band; and Mr. Mukesh Mohammad, a renowned playback singer with over 500 film songs to his credit. Their presence, coupled with that of Fr. Ronald Richard, Archdiocesan Youth Director, and Fr. John Christy, Provincial Councillor and Youth Services Coordinator of the INM Province, added both artistic credibility and spiritual depth to the occasion. Each choir brought forth a compelling performance, merging technical excellence with heartfelt reverence.
At the conclusion of the vibrant musical showcase, Don Bosco Shrine, Ayanavaram was declared the winner, receiving the championship trophy and a cash prize, while St. Xavier’s Church, Broadway secured the runner-up position and a cash award. All participating choirs were honored with commemorative mementoes in appreciation of their effort and dedication. As the evening came to a close, the spirit of unity and celebration continued with a warm fellowship dinner served to all present. Voice of Angels – Season 10 stood not only as a competition but as a resounding testament to the power of youth, music, and Marian devotion to bring communities together in faith and harmony.
