Experiences of priests to encourage missionary aspirants


The annual Salesian Mission Day 2017 of Chennai Province was held at Don Bosco Missionary Aspirantate, Perambur, on November 26, 2017. Several houses and centres participated in the function which comprised of cultural programmes, panel discussion and exhibition.

    These were: Full community of Novitiate, Full community of Don Bosco Aspirantate, Tirupattur, Becchi - Don Bosco Theologate, Fatima School of FMA at Kodambakkam, Don Bosco Beatitudes, Vyasarpadi, DB short stay home, Mathur, the family members of our missionary aspirants from all over the state and all the priests, religious and lay people.

    “This year the subject of the panel discussion was about the experiences of some priests in foreign locations like America and Africa. The theme of the Day was ‘Initial Proclamation and the Indigenous Peoples of America’, as suggested by the Generalate,” said Fr. Arokiaswamy Arputharaj, Vice Rector, Don Bosco Missionary Aspirantate.

    The main celebrant for the concluding mass was Fr. Xavier Packiam, Economer, who stood in for the Provincial.
