Imparting better parenting skills

The role of parents is very important for the growth and development of their children. Most of the uneducated parents do have concern for their children and their future. Since there is less exposure for them, their guiding principles and taking care of their children are not that effective.

During the Training and Animation session by Mr. Stephen Raj at DB Tribal Development Centre on November 26, 2017, three type of parenting skills were presented to the parents. They were - 1. Authoritarian, 2. Permissive, and 3. Democratic. The merits and demerits of these types were discussed with the parents. There was also an analysis with the children and their parents about their expression of love and concern towards each other. Being from the tribal community, the anticipated results did not surface, but some tips were given to understand the behaviour of their children.
